This big step is taken for security reasons. JavaScript is a common language used when developing web applications, and JavaScript files are often loaded as part of web pages. However, opening an unknown JavaScript file on Windows can be dangerous, as it runs inside Windows Script Host by default. From there, the script can easily run Windows executables.

Now, hackers will not able to attach the .js file in emails.

One will not be able to attach a .js file in future. An in-product warning will appear if one will do so which explains the reason why.

So, from February 13, 2017 onwards in case your want to send a .js document then you may use Google drive or Google Cloud storage.
